Our Pastor
Dr. Joe Arthur
Dr. Joe Arthur, pastor of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle, has been used greatly by God in the metro-Atlanta area, and all over the globe as he preaches in revivals, camp meetings, and conference throughout the year.
In June of 1979, Pastor Arthur was saved, and in August of the same year, he answered the call to preach. In October of 1984, he became pastor of Willingham Drive Baptist Church in East Point, Georgia, which later became Harvest Baptist Tabernacle, now located in the city of Jonesboro. On November 4, he and Julie Wishon were married.
In 1997, he became the moderator of the Greer Baptist Camp Meeting located in Greer, South Carolina. The Camp Meeting is held every Summer during the last week of June, and the first week of July. It is the oldest Baptist Camp Meeting still on operation today.
Pastor Arthur was born in Danville, Virginia. Throughout his childhood he lived in Roanoke Rapids and Reidsville, North Carolina, and Marion, Virginia, until God called him to the Atlanta area. He and his wife, Julie, have two children, Joseph and Joanna. He and Mrs. Arthur are the proud grandparents of five beautiful grandchildren.
